This Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 11, Applebee’s restaurants will once again offer a FREE meal to veterans and active military to say Thank You to the neighborhood’s real heroes. Here are the details:
In addition to offering free meals on Monday, Nov. 11, the online Thank You Movement continues this year to ensure our heroes receive Thank You messages beyond Veterans Day. Applebee’s is encouraging guests to leave a message for our veterans and active military at www.thankyoumovement.com. Thank Yous can also be delivered on Facebook and Twitter by using the #thankyoumovement hashtag, and through YouTube. Veterans and active-duty troops can go online anytime to see and hear the heartfelt thanks of the people they serve. Initiated in 2011, the Thank You Movement has generated more than 4.5 million Thank You messages to date and is the largest ongoing military Thank You initiative in the nation.

The National Park Service
The National Park Service will honor all military veterans with special events and free entrance to all 401 national parks for everyone during the Veterans Day weekend, November 9 through 11.
Hallowed places such as Saratoga, Fort McHenry, Vicksburg and the USS Arizona Memorial are among the 94 National Park Service battlefields, military parks, national cemeteries and military-related historic sites that commemorate the service and sacrifice of veterans throughout our country’s history. Additional national parks preserve American icons like the Statue of Liberty, Mount Rushmore and the Liberty Bell which have inspired generations of troops.

The National Park Service also provides active duty members of the military and their dependents with an annual national park pass, an $80 value, at no charge. Permanently disabled veterans can receive a free lifetime pass to all parks. The passes provides entrance to all national parks, national wildlife refuges, national forests, and many other Federal lands – more than 2,000 in all. Olive Garden invites veterans to enjoy a free meal from a special menu on Veterans Day. Family members dining with us will get 10% off. Bring your VFW membership card or DD214 and find the Olive Garden in your neighborhood at www.OliveGarden.com.
Plus, current service members and dependents can also receive 10% off throughout the month of November in honor of Military Family Appreciation Month.
Shoney’s
Shoney’s is offering a free All-American Burger to veterans and active-duty military service members on Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, at participating restaurants, while supplies last. There is a limit of one per day, per military service member, and the offer is not valid in conjunction with any other offers.
Shoney’s military guests will need to provide proof of military service. Offer is valid for Dine-in only and beverage, tax and gratuity are not included.
Sport Clips Haircuts
Sport Clips locations across the nation are currently raising funds for its Help A Hero campaign, which supports the new VFW “Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarship” program.
On Veterans Day, November 11, 2013, $1 from every haircut service will go to Help A Hero. In addition, many Sport Clips locations will offer free haircuts to active duty U.S. service members and veterans this Veterans Day, with valid proof of service.
