Ten years ago today, America’s newest generation of war veteran was born. They answered the nation’s call to stand strong in the face of evil and ignorance.
Today, we keep these brave American’s at the forefront of our minds. It’s because of their collective efforts to stand up for freedom that we’re able to live our lives free from tyranny and fear.
They overcame unique challenges and fought to ensure our homeland remains secure for our sake and our children’s sake. And still today, they continue to support and encourage conditions of peace and goodness in the name of patriotism and honor.
Ten years later, we can be assured that our patriotic men and women who have and are still serving overseas remain bright and shining examples of liberty for all nations — and that their moments of valor and courage represent all that is good in the human spirit.
There is no duty more important than protecting America, our ideals, our citizens, our way of life and providing each and every one of us a safeguard into the future—and today, and every day, we salute the American veterans of the Iraq War.
Thank you for your service.
