KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S. is proud to announce the launch of a new VFW Veteran Employment Tools (VET) pilot program to provide transitioning veterans with the necessary hardware to help start careers in the automotive maintenance industry, which often requires its employees to provide their own tools.
“Our new veterans already have the skill sets to succeed in this industry, but what many might lack are the required tool sets, which can cost thousands of dollars,” said VFW National Commander Keith Harman. “This is a tough financial barrier to employment, and that’s why we teamed with Snap-on to initially provide 20 transitioning veterans with the tools they need to succeed.
“The VFW is dedicated to helping veterans, service members and their families,” said Harman, “and we are very hopefully that the pilot program exceeds to the point that we can help even more service members successfully transition back into their communities.”
