KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S. is proud to team up with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs on Thursday, Sept. 13, and Tuesday, Sept. 18, to bring our Facebook followers an opportunity to get their questions answered on two important topics: mental health and telehealth.
Join representatives from VA and the VFW for a Facebook Live event on Sept. 13 at 1 p.m. EDT as we discuss the mental health challenges veterans face, how to recognize the need for care, and where to go when you or someone you know needs help. VA offers a wide range of mental health care services to empower veterans to live full and meaningful lives. During this Facebook Live, attendees will discover types of support available to veterans and their families, as well as have your questions answered in the comments section following the video.
This event is part of the “#ExploreVA: From Service to Success” online series highlighting how veterans and their families use VA benefits and services. These benefits help veterans earn degrees, start careers, buy homes, stay healthy and more. Visit Explore.VA.gov to register for the event and to gain access to information on events, resources and how to apply for VA benefits.
Also on the schedule, be sure to join us on Sept. 18 as we team up with VA’s Office of Connected Care for a Facebook Live event about VA Video Connect, VA’s video appointment telehealth technology.
During the event, Connected Care Chief Officer Dr. Neil Evans will sit down with VFW Director of National Veterans Service and Army veteran Ryan Gallucci to discuss how veterans can use VA Video Connect to meet with their VA care teams from the comfort of home. They will show a demonstration of the application and share information about future enhancements to the application and to VA Telehealth Services.
