KANSAS CITY, Mo. – On Oct. 13, as the U.S. Navy celebrates a 244-year history of service to the nation, the more than 1.6 million members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S. and its Auxiliary want to say “thank you.”
For more than two centuries, the U.S. Navy has time and again proven to be the most formidable force on the high seas, serving with distinction in every war. Sailors past and present serve with courage and valor, and provide humanitarian aid and comfort unmatched by any other country on Earth, and it’s their resolve and fortitude that has helped lead America to victory for well over two centuries.
Our nation is safer because of our Navy, and today as with every day the VFW and its Auxiliary thank all past and present sailors for their honorable service to our great nation.
