KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) salutes the nearly 700,000 men and women who courageously served our nation during the Gulf War as we recognize the 29th anniversary of the cease fire between the Coalition and Iraqi Army on April 11.
Our brave soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines and Coast Guardsmen led the Coalition to victory, however, it came at a significant price resulting in 374 killed in action, 467 wounded, and two service members whose remains have yet to return home.
The VFW is forever grateful for the dedication, selflessness and sacrifice these warriors exhibited that eventually concluded with the liberation of Kuwait.
It’s vital that as Americans we always pay our respects to the protectors of freedom who serve our great nation with honor and courage.
