The VFW National Home’s centennial year is 2025. To commemorate this VFW treasure, which has provided much-needed assistance to families – and continues this today – VFW Magazine plans to feature the Home in its January 2025 issue.
This inside look at the VFW National Home, including interviews with employees who have worked there 30+ years, and an in-depth review of the past 100 years, would not be complete without hearing from VFW members.
If you have visited the Home in Eaton Rapids, Mich., we want to hear from you. Please email Janie Dyhouse at JDyhouse@vfw.org with comments about your visit and include photos of yourself during your trip.
When the VFW National Home first opened its doors in 1925, its mission was to keep families who were left behind due a loss in war together. As needs have changed throughout the years, so has the Home’s mission.
However, the one thing that remains from nearly 100 years ago is the National Home’s commitment to honor America’s veterans and active-duty military by providing hope and help to their children and families.
