VFW’s 2024 National Publications Contest open for submissions

VFW magazine’s 2024 National Publications Contest opened for submissions this month and looks to continue its streak of showcasing publications crafted by VFW members across the globe.

The contest is now in its seventh year and is open to all VFW publications published up to four or five times or more a year. These publications will be judged at the Department, District, and Post levels.

Important AnnouncementThere will be three prizes in each category: a grand award for first place, a silver award for second, and a bronze award for third. Grand prize winners will get a plaque, while silver and bronze winners will receive a framed certificate.

The VFW Publication Department’s awards system matches those of other professional organizations in the publishing industry, including the National Mature Media Awards, Association Trends, Society of National Association Publications, Society of Professional Journalists, and Communications Concepts.

Eligible subjects for the Best Feature submissions include state VA department operations, National Guard or Reserve unit deployments abroad, troop-support activities, VFW programs, dedication of state memorials and local commemorative events.

Only one issue per publication will be reviewed by the appointed judges.

All submitted entries must have been published between January and December of 2024.
