Earlier this year, the VFW launched the #StillServing campaign to bring more awareness to the many ways veterans continue to serve beyond the military.
When the VFW National Convention scheduled for July 2020 was cancelled due to COVID-19, we shifted our focus to the first-ever, virtual #StillServing Celebration!
Set for July 20-24, the #StillServing Celebration was a weeklong celebration on the VFW's Facebook page that showcased stories of veterans who’ve remained committed to a life of service and especially those who’ve stepped up in the wake of COVID-19. The week's events culminated with a special Pro-Forma Convention, followed by the installation of the new VFW National Commander on July 24, 2020.
Throughout the week, we heard directly from members and Post leaders on how they’ve met the many challenges of these uncertain times. We also spotlighted remarks from special guests, surprise celebrity entertainers, a daily #StillServing T-shirt giveaway, all while providing VFW members and supporters the opportunity to engage and network with other members from the comfort of your personal computer or device.
If you missed last week's event, visit the VFW's Facebook page to scroll through all the great posts we made, or watch every video posted in our #StillServing Celebration playlist here. Find out more about the VFW's #StillServing Campaign at vfw.org/StillServing.
