The VFW is set to stream coverage from its 116th
National Convention on www.vfw.org,
live from Pittsburgh’s David L. Lawrence Convention Center starting July 18.
Approximately 10,000 VFW and Ladies Auxiliary VFW members
and guests are expected to attend the weeklong convention in downtown Pittsburgh,
Pa., July 18-22. Live streaming kicks off with the annual Memorial Service starting
at 8:30 a.m. (EDT) on July 19. The live stream will pick back up the following
morning with the call to order of the VFW/Ladies Auxiliary VFW Joint Opening
Session.
Monday’s lineup includes the presentation of the VFW
Dwight D. Eisenhower Award to retired General James T. Mattis and the VFW Armed
Forces Award to Army Medics 68 Whiskey. Be sure to watch as Secretary of
Department of Veterans Affairs Robert McDonald apprises the VFW on the current state
of the VA, and for appearances by many other notable guests.
Live streaming of the daily VFW Business Sessions will
continue for the duration of the convention beginning at 8:00 a.m. daily, and
conclude with the election and installation of new VFW officers on Wednesday.
