A New Communication Platform

Recent VFW Podcast episodes now available

One of VFW’s newest communication mediums is available to all members, veterans and the public.

Listeners of #StillServing: The VFW Podcast can expect to hear about current information on key veterans’ legislation, education and financial assistance programs, as well as national veterans’ services and VFW’s critical initiatives.

VFW Communications and Public Affairs Director, and VFW Podcast host Rob Couture“When it comes to what I think my audience would like to hear, I always draw from my life experiences - as a surviving military dependent, as a 24-year Army veteran, and as a VFW life member,” said podcast host, Robert Couture, VFW Washington Office director of Communications and Public Affairs. “Bottom line – people tuning in can expect a show for veterans, hosted by a veteran, with news, information and some great conversation everyone can enjoy.”

Couture said that the special Veterans Day edition of the VFW podcast will feature former Army Staff Sergeant David Bellavia, who is the first and only person to receive the Medal of Honor in the Iraq War. He also is the only living recipient of the medal in the Iraq War.

The episode will be available Nov. 10, the day before Veterans Day. Nov. 10 also happens to be Bellavia’s birthday and the 17th anniversary of the action in which he became a Medal of Honor recipient.

VFW podcast listeners can hear from congressional leadership, officials from the Department of Defense and VA, as well as everyday veterans, on issues affecting military and veteran communities.

Episodes of the podcast will be available at vfw.org/Podcast. The VFW podcast also can be found on the following platforms:
